Appointments

Birth debrief

90 minutes | $210 | Medicare rebate may be available

A birth debriefing session offers a safe and supportive space to explore and reflect on your birth experience. Through gentle, guided conversation, the session supports emotional wellbeing, meaning-making, and integration of the experience, allowing you to talk through what happened and how it has impacted you. Birth debriefing can help make sense of thoughts, feelings, and emotional responses that may linger after birth, particularly when the experience felt unexpected, overwhelming, or unresolved. The focus is on being heard, supported, and making meaning of your experience at your own pace, helping you move forward with greater understanding and emotional clarity.

Counselling (Non-directive pregnancy counselling)

60 minutes | $130 | Medicare rebate may be available

Non-directive pregnancy counselling provides a safe, confidential, and supportive space to explore experiences, feelings, and concerns related to pregnancy and the postpartum period. Sessions are client-led and impartial, meaning the practitioner does not direct or influence decisions or outcomes, but supports women to explore what is coming up for them in a respectful and non-judgemental way. This form of counselling focuses on emotional and psychosocial support. Sessions may involve exploring thoughts and feelings about pregnancy, personal circumstances, relationships, identity changes, and the impact of past or current experiences. Counselling may also include discussion of supports, coping strategies, and ways to navigate emotional or situational challenges, with care tailored to the individual. This service is suitable for women who may be feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, distressed, or in need of a supportive space to talk openly, without pressure to make decisions or reach conclusions. The emphasis is on autonomy, safety, and feeling supported, whatever a person's circumstances. ** Women are eligible for 3 Medicare-rebated sessions of Non-Directive Pregnancy Counselling from pregnancy through to 12 months postpartum with a GP referral**

EMDR

90 minutes | $210

EMDR is a structured, evidence-based therapy used to support the processing of distressing or traumatic experiences. When a traumatic or overwhelming event occurs, the body can retain the physical sensations associated with the experience, while the brain attaches meaning to what happened (for example, "I am not safe"). These memories may not be fully processed at the time and can continue to influence how a person feels, reacts, and relates in day-to-day life. Reminders of the original experience can reactivate both the body sensations and the meanings formed at the time, leading to strong emotional or physiological responses in the present. EMDR supports the brain to safely reprocess these memories, helping to reduce the intensity of the body's response and bring the emotional charge attached to the memory back toward neutrality. Through this process, EMDR can also support the development of new, more adaptive meanings that reflect present-day safety and understanding (for example, "I am safe now"). Over time, this can support emotional regulation, resilience, and a reduced impact of past experiences on everyday life.
