Mother's circles with Joy

Date: Saturday 12th September
Time: 10:00am
Location: The Village Wellness Centre
Capacity: 20
Price: $35

As mothers, we spend so much time pouring from our own cup for everyone else that we forget what it feels like to be on the receiving end. Mother's Circle is a monthly space to slow down, be witnessed, and actually receive some of that care back – led by Joy, who brings together storytelling, essential oils, and meditation, closing each circle with a yoga nidra to help you properly land back in your body. This isn't a networking group or a mums' meetup with small talk. It's a space to be honest about how motherhood actually feels, and to build real, ongoing relationships with the other women in the room over time.

Start exercising - 6 weeks return to exercise program with Dr MJ

Date: Tuesday, 15th September 2026 - Friday, 23rd October 2026
Time: 09:30am-10:30am
Location: The Village Wellness Centre
Capacity: 10
Price: $297 for 6 weeks

Getting back into exercise after having a baby (or after any long break) usually goes one of two ways: an all-or-nothing week that fizzles out by day four, or so much caution that you never actually start. This program is neither. Over six weeks, Dr MJ and her team take you through three phases.

What we cover:

  • getting clear on your intention and capacity in weeks one and two
  • building the key movement patterns – squat, hinge, push, pull, carry – with progressive loading in weeks three and four
  • learning to read your own readiness signals in weeks five and six, so you're training around your own patterns instead of a generic rule.

Two sessions a week, Tuesdays and Fridays at 9:30am. Weeks one, two, five, and six run 20 minutes of education with Dr MJ, then 30 minutes of guided exercise with her team. Weeks three and four shift to 40 minutes of exercise, then 20 minutes of morning tea and a chance to actually talk to the other women doing this with you. Starts Tuesday 15 September. One booking covers all six weeks. $297 for the full program.

Birth Partner Masterclass (Fully booked)

Date: Sunday, 20th September 2026
Time: 09:30am-12:30pm
Location: The Village Wellness Centre
Capacity: 6 couples
Price: $180, per couple

Most of the birth prep happens on one side of the bed. You've read the books, watched the videos, maybe joined a few Facebook groups – and your partner is still catching up in the final weeks, hoping they'll figure it out on the day. This session gets you both on the same page. In a small, hands-on group, your partner will learn what's actually happening during labour and practical ways to support you through it – hands-on, not just theory, so it actually sticks when it counts. You'll leave with tools that hold up in the room, not just on the page.

Wear something comfortable to move in - there's floor work and hands-on practice, so trackies over jeans. Bring along a pillow and towel.

Bowen Paediatric Popup Clinic

Date: Monday 21st September 2026
Time: 09:30am
Location: The Village Wellness Centre
Capacity: 20
Price: By donation

Bowen therapy is light-touch and gentle – about as far from a deep-tissue massage as you can get, which is part of why it suits little bodies. Claire, our Bowen therapist, will start with a short talk on what Bowen actually is and why some families use it for things like unsettled sleep, tummy troubles, or general tension – not as a fix-all, but as a gentle, non-invasive option worth knowing about. From there, she'll offer mini treatments to the children in the room: a series of light, specific moves, nothing forceful, well suited to babies and young kids.

This one's run by donation (we suggest $20, give what you can) so it's genuinely open to any family who wants to come. Spots go on a first-in basis, so registration is required.

Nourishing the Postpartum Mother – An Ayurvedic Workshop

Date: Sunday 4th October 2026
Time: 09:00am-12:00pm
Location: The Village Wellness Centre
Capacity: 15
Price: $150

Most postpartum planning is a spreadsheet: who's dropping off meals, who's got the baby Tuesday, what's in the freezer. This workshop is the other half - how to actually nourish a new mother, not just feed her. Joy will walk you through the basics of Ayurvedic postpartum care: what a dosha is (your body's own particular balance, in Ayurvedic terms), and how food, ritual, and herbs can help a mother feel grounded rather than depleted in those early weeks. It's practical, not prescriptive – ideas to take or leave depending on what actually suits you or the person you're supporting. We'll start with a short meditation, share an Ayurvedic snack together, and talk through key ingredients and why they're used. You'll leave with recipes and a take-home reference sheet, so none of it has to be memorised on the day.

Open to anyone in the birth world – preparing for your own postpartum, preconception, pregnant, or a care provider or loved one wanting to support someone through theirs.

Yoga for Pelvic Health – 3 Week Series

Date: Monday 12th October, for 3 weeks
Time: 09:30am
Location: The Village Wellness Centre
Capacity: 8
Price: $79 for the series

Healing isn't a checklist; it's a relationship. This 3-week series is a dedicated space to deep-dive into your pelvic health – not by treating your perinatal body like a machine with a faulty part, but by treating your body as a partner in your parenting. Across the three weeks, Claire will guide you through the practice of svadhyaya (self-inquiry) – learning the unique tension, laxity, and strength of your own biology, and moving past the labels handed to you by everyone else. What we cover: - Refining your internal map, so you can hear what your pelvis is telling you before it has to "scream" in pain or heaviness - Using your breath to support your pelvic floor through the physical demands of pregnancy, lifting toddlers, and nursing - Moving gentle, restorative practice into functional strength that supports you in daily life This booking covers all three sessions.
